Tigers coach Tim Sheens has revealed Apisai Koroisau suffered a broken jaw in two places in a horrow blow to the merger club and NSW side.
While attempting to tackle Tino Fa’asuamaleaui in the 14th minute of the Tigers and Titans’ clash, Koroisau was left reeling and instantly ran to the bench.
Sheens, who was clearly dejected in the post-match press conference, fronted media alone and revealed the gruesome diagnosis and also said Koroisau will have surgery on Friday.

“No captain, he’s in hospital. He broke his jaw through there and there (two places), it is a major issue,” Sheens said.
“He’s gone for scans, we are taking him for surgery tomorrow, he’ll be minimum six weeks if he is lucky.
“It looked like an elbow to me, but I won’t make any real fuss about it until I see it.
“He (Koroisau) plays the game tough and he plays it fair, I’m not going to accuse the kid, although they put it on report so they went back and looked at it.
“The jaw is broken, and badly broken right through the jaw, his bottom teeth are just loose.
“It is going to be major surgery tomorrow.”
Speaking directly after the incident on the sidelines, Corey Parker revealed there was instant concern for the Blues hooker who had been rushed to hospital.
“He made a B-line for the bench after that contact from Tino, there was blood visible around the mouth.
Koroisau will now join NSW’s growing casualty ward, with Nathan Cleary already ruled out of the second game of the series.
Rabbitohs due Cameron Murray (groin) and Latrell Mitchell (calf) also remain under injury clouds and haven’t been named in Round 15.
Meanwhile, in a further blow, Tigers halfback Luke Brooks left the field with a hamstring injury.
Brooks hobbled from the field after attempting to chase down Titans young gun Jayden Campbell who made a break late in the second half.
