Sydney will show off new recruit Brodie Grundy against a near full strength Giants side in Thursday’s practice match at Tramway Oval in New South Wales.
Grundy headlines a Swans side that also includes fellow recruit James Jordon, with the side looking to put in a good showing ahead of a season that they’ll hope includes a deeper run in the finals.
Crosstown rivals GWS will be without star captain Toby Greene as he and his partner prepare to welcome their first child, but are otherwise fielding a relatively strong line-up.

Brodie Grundy was impressive early, winning the first hitout of the match and getting a free kick after applying good pressure shortly after.
For the Giants, Jack Buckley was also in good touch early, with his side kicking three of the first four goals of the match in what was a relatively free flowing end-to-end contest.
The match got underway at 10am AEDT from Tramway Oval and will be comprised of four regular quarters, with VFL squads playing a practice match afterwards.
The only way to watch it live is via Fox Footy (channel 504) and/or streaming on Kayo.
