Shock Saints axing amid huge in; premiership Pies return as trio dumped: AFL Rd 2 Teams

St Kilda and Collingwood have wielded the selection axe for Thursday night’s showdown at the MCG, with the Saints dumping Brad Crouch.

Crouch and last week’s debutant Lance Collard both make way for returning star Jack Sinclair and Zak Jones in Ross Lyon’s team as it hopes to bounce back from last week’s loss to Geelong.

The Magpies have meanwhile called on several changes, with premiership duo Tom Mitchell and Billy Frampton named alongside Reef McInness as the reigning premiers look to dig themselves out of their 0-2 hole.

Collingwood has dropped John Noble, Charlie Dean and Ash Johnson, while Will Hoskin-Elliott has been managed.

Mitchell was managed for the Magpies’ loss to Sydney a week after being subbed out of the club’s Opening Round defeat to GWS, with coach Craig McRae revealing the Brownlow medallist has been battling an ankle issue.
