The North Queensland Cowboys have confirmed 2024 will be the final season of club record try scorer Kyle Feldt’s time at the club.
Born and raised in Townsville, Feldt progressed through the club’s ranks until eventually making his NRL debut for the club in 2013 before breaking Matt Bowen’s long standing Cowboys try scoring record earlier this season.
Yet, arguably the greatest moment of his career came in the 2015 NRL grand final, when the winger crossed for the game levelling try right on full time, a four pointer that ultimately led to the club winning its first ever premiership.

Feldt is the second 2015 premiership winner to finish up at the Cowboys at the end of this season after Jake Granville, with the club confirming this Thursday night’s clash with the Melbourne Storm will be used to honour the careers of the pair.
“This hasn’t been an easy decision to make, but I feel the time is right,” Feldt said via a Cowboys statement.
“I have been fortunate to live out my childhood dream to play NRL for my hometown team for 11 years.
“I’ve made some amazing memories and lifelong friends.”
Speaking on Feldt’s departure, Cowboys general manager Michael Luck said; “this club was formed so North Queenslanders could stay at home to play rugby league at the highest level and Kyle Feldt encapsulates that vision.”
At this stage it’s unclear whether the two-time Maroons representative will remain in the NRL or take up an opportunity overseas.
