India A wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan could be facing a sanction following his verbal confrontation with umpire Shawn Craig on day four of the match against Australia A in Mackay.
Early on Sunday morning at Great Barrier Reef Arena, the Indian team crowded around Craig and requested for the match ball to be changed, with the match official ignoring their demands.
“No more discussion, let’s play,” Craig was overheard saying on the stump mic.
“This is not a discussion.”

Kishan queried: “So we have to play with this ball?
“That’s a very stupid decision.”
The Indian gloveman’s comments understandably didn’t sit well with Craig, who responded: “Excuse me. You’ll be on report for dissent.
“That’s inappropriate behaviour.”
Kishan has represented India in two Tests, 27 ODIs and 32 T20Is since his international debut in 2021.
Earlier in the Mackay match, the 26-year-old was filmed taunting Australia A opener Marcus Harris, with footage of the moment circulating social media channels.
