After a fast-paced 10-week home-and-away season, the top eight for this year’s AFLW finals series is locked in.
For the first time in their seven-year history, North Melbourne’s side has claimed the minor premiership, with Hawthorn, Brisbane and Adelaide rounding out the top four.
Adelaide locked in their double chance on Friday night with a win over Geelong, while Port Adelaide guaranteed themselves a home final on Sunday evening in a last-gasp win over GWS.

Last year’s premiers the Lions finished one spot higher on the home-and-away ladder than they did last year, while the Hawks will host a home qualifying final next weekend at Ikon Park – sowing it up in fine style with a one million dollar prize thanks to their win over Richmond.
The Tigers will face the Power in a do-or-die clash at Alberton Oval, while one of Fremantle or Essendon’s will also finish on the upcoming weekend.

WHEN IS THE AFLW GRAND FINAL?
The AFLW finals series will begin next weekend, with no pre-finals bye – unlike the AFL men’s competition.
The 2024 AFLW Grand Final is scheduled for Saturday November 30, however a time slot is yet to be confirmed – with the league strongly considering a night game.
Last year’s Grand Final was hosted at 2:30pm AEDT at Ikon Park.
A venue for the marquee match is also still yet to be decided upon.
HOW THE AFLW FINALS SYSTEM WORKS
The winners of the two qualifying finals advance to host the two preliminary finals, while two teams are eliminated each week until the Grand Final.
The loser of the First Qualifying Final hosts the winner of the First Elimination Final in the First Semi Final.
The loser of the Second Qualifying Final hosts the winner of the Second Elimination Final in the Second Semi Final.
The winner of the First Qualifying Final hosts the winner of the Second Semi Final in the First Preliminary Final.
The winner of the Second Qualifying Final hosts the winner of the First Semi Final in the Second Preliminary Final.
The winners of the two Preliminary Finals face off in the 2024 AFLW Grand Final.
