Several of Fox League’s stars have revealed the interesting ways they have come up with their tips for Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup.
In the hours leading up to the race that stops the nation, everyone is scrambling to find a formula that will lead them to the winner, and NRL great Nathan Hindmarsh has gone into some deep mathematics to choose Sea King for the Cup.

The English import has been highly fancied after winning the Bendigo Cup recently but its run in country Victoria did not enter into Hindmarsh’s equations.
“What I did was added my kids ages together,” he said.
“18+17+15+8 = 58
“Then I divided that by 4 because that’s how many kids I have. 58 divided by 4 = 14.5
“I always average up which came to No.15 Sea King.”

Corey Parker has chosen to back third favourite with the bookies Onesmoothoperator.
Again, nothing to do with form.
“#13 for me . Great number and cool name,” Parker said.
Dale Finucane has tipped #18 Interpretation because he is “backing the Irish heritage”, while Steve ‘Blocker’ Roach has gone for #8 Land Legend and Ben Elias likes the look of one of the favourites, #2 Buckaroo.

Yvonne Sampson also thinks Buckaroo will win the Cup, and is the only one who is focusing on recent form in choosing her tips for the first four.
“#2 Buckaroo – Moreira will give him the steer of a lifetime after fast finish in Caulfield Cup,” she said.
“#1 Vauban – In form and back better than last year.
“#9 Absurde – on speed last year.
“#5 Kovalica – finished strong in Cox Plate.”
Greg Alexander has sided with Parker also believes Onesmoothoperator will be victorious with #14 Zardozi, #9 Absurde and #5 Kovalica rounding out the first four.
