ROOS READY TO PLAY BALL
The Kangaroos are open to trading one of this year’s Pick 2, or their future first-round pick in next year’s draft — but they’re adamant they won’t overpay in the process.
As suspected for many weeks now since the trade period, North Melbourne are hopeful of a win-win trade that sees them split this year’s Pick 2, in exchange for two alternate high-end draft picks.

POWER OPT NOT TO NOMINATE FATHER-SONS
Despite the opportunity to commit to several father-son prospects ahead of the draft, Port Adelaide have decided against locking in any of Rome Burgoyne, Louie Montgomery, Ky Burgoyne and Oliver Francou, reports Simeon Thomas-Wilson from The Advertiser.
Subsequently, the Power are able to select any of the four just like any other player in the draft.
The quartet are all the sons of former Port guns Peter Burgoyne, Brett Montgomery, Shaun Burgoyne and Josh Francou respectively.
Rome Burgoyne — a slick half-back and on-baller — is understood to have the most interest from rival clubs heading into next week
The club has already announced Francou will play in its SANFL side next year, should he not be picked up by a rival team.
Cross-town rivals Adelaide have nominated Tyler Welsh as a father-son prospect, with the key forward the son of former Crow forward Scott Welsh.
