A-list actor Russell Crowe is reportedly looking to sell his 25 per cent ownership share in the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Crowe, who paid $3 million with businessman Peter Holmes a Court to purchase the Bunnies back in 2006, is now wanting to be bought out of his share.
According to Code Sports, Crowe’s 25 per cent share is being valued around $15 to $20 million, with the actor in contact with several potential investors.
One of those is a U.S. based investor, who has undertaken a business appraisal of the club.
Crowe responded to the report, claiming there’s nothing to it without outright denying it.
“Just tell them all it’s bullshit and advise them to enjoy the summer sun,” Crowe said via his media manager Grant Vandenberg.
In addition to Crowe, billionaires Mike Cannon-Brookes and James Packer own 50 per cent between them.
The remaining 25 per cent is owned by the Rabbitohs members.
Packer, who grew up a Roosters fan, purchased 37.5 per cent back in 2014 when Holmes a Court dipped out.
Given Packer got involved at the request of Crowe, it’s unclear whether Packer will keep his share if Crowe is bought out.
When Crowe came on board back in 2006, the Rabbitohs were among the worst teams in the comp and struggling financially, having only been a few years removed from being excluded from the comp for two seasons.
Now, the Rabbitohs are flourishing financially.
