Los Angeles Golf Club stormed home from 4-0 down to defeat New York Golf Club in TGL’s third overtime thriller of its inaugural season.

The first match of the double header appeared like it could be a fizzer as New York raced out in front with LA not even winning a point 11 holes into the 15-hole contest.
New York were dropping putts from everywhere with Cameron Young holing a 38 foot, six inch bomb to claim the mantle of longest putt ever made on TGL’s movable green, while Rickie Fowler’s 36 foot, seven inch sits second on the list.
But the tide turned in the singles component of the match with LA claiming four points in three consecutive holes, started by Sahith Theegala’s birdie courtesy of a 28 foot, seven inch putt.
Debutant Tony Finau dropped the Hammer, which doubles the wager of the points value for the hole, before teeing off on the 13th and the move paid off with a birdie earning LA two points to get back into the match.
They then pulled off a clean sweep of the penalty shootout style closest to the pin competition in overtime with Collin Morikawa sticking it to six feet to seal the come from behind win, and a spot in the playoffs.
The second match of the night saw Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf fall 6-3 against Justin Thomas’ Atlanta Drive.
The win saw Atlanta move to 3-1-0 to clinch a playoff berth while Boston was eliminated from postseason contention.
