Crichton’s tackle resulted in Taylan May being rubbed out for 11 days with a category one concussion and because he wasn’t sin-binned the Tigers couldn’t activate their 18th man.
Marshall tried to choose his words carefully to avoid a fine from the NRL, but was clearly annoyed with the double standards.

“I really don’t want to get in trouble to be honest,” Marshall said.
“I just can’t understand why one is one thing and why another one’s another thing and now we lose Taylan for 11 days. Lucky we have got the bye.
“We can’t use our 18th man unless he gets sin-binned.”
Marshall admitted he can’t understand the inconsistency with referee calls over the course of the season.
“Honestly, I have got enough to worry about coaching than what the rules of the game are,” Marshall said.
“I can’t keep up with heaps of it.”
A journalist pressed Marshall on whether the Tigers were on the wrong end of double standards.
“You’re saying the issue is sometimes you see players sin-binned for one thing and then not for another?” the journalist said.
“I’ll use your words,” Marshall replied.

Marshall revealed May was fine, but conceded his team got some lucky calls as well for a change.
“He was okay, I think he was a bit confused too,” Marshall said.
“But anyway we got the result. That’s all that matters. We got a few good calls today too, a couple of forward passes went our way that usually go against us, so it was nice to get a couple of calls actually.”

Tigers skipper Jarome Luai was asked about a fiery exchange with Lachlan Galvin in the first half that saw him stand over his former teammate.
“That’s footy bro, I’m a competitor and it doesn’t really matter who is on the other side,” Luai said.
“There is brothers and opposition, so that’s how I see it.”
Luai was seen in a touching embrace with Galvin after the match, but wouldn’t be drawn on what was said between the pair.
“No I’m good,” Luai said.

Marshall denied using Galvin as motivation in the build-up to the Tigers’ best win of the season.
“All week people made it about him, but for us it was never about him,” Marshall said.
“It is about our club playing against the Bulldogs. They’re a top four team and deservedly so and going to play semi-finals, so to put in that performance today was big for the whole club.
“I think our fans after the season we have had deserved that performance today.”
