The Sharks have suffered a massive blow to their title hopes with confirmation skipper Cameron McInnes suffered an ACL injury in the win over the Titans in Round 24.

The injury will see McInnes ruled out for the rest of the season and he faces a lengthy recovery period before he can return to the field in 2026.
“Sharks captain Cameron McInnes faces a lengthy recovery period after scans on Monday confirmed a ruptured ACL,” the Sharks said in a statement.
“McInnes suffered the injury in the first half of Saturday’s win over the Titans.”
The Sharks currently sit seventh on the ladder with clashes with the Knights and Bulldogs after their final bye in Round 25 as they aim to seal a finals berth.
The 31-year-old has been an iron man for the Sharks playing at least 22 games a season in all four of his years at the club since joining in 2022.

McInnes has scored 27 tries in 226 games for the Rabbitohs, Dragons and Sharks since his debut in 2016 and played one Origin for the Blues in 2024.
Having started his career at hooker, McInnes has blossomed into a workhorse No.13 for the Sharks over the last four seasons.
