The rumblings around a possible Charlie Curnow Carlton departure aren’t dying down as he remains “open to exploring a trade” amid three potential landing spots.
Both Curnow, contracted until 2029, and the Blues shut down trade speculation last month when the dual Coleman medallist was first linked to a potential move to Gold Coast.
Sydney, which is in the market for a bona fide key forward, the Suns and Geelong continue to be the clubs linked to the 28-year-old spearhead as Herald Sun and Fox Footy reporter Jon Ralph provided an update on the state of play.

“Those rumblings just will not quit, and they surround Charlie Curnow,” Ralph told On the Couch.
“Carlton’s exit interviews start (on Tuesday) at Ikon Park, and certainly Charlie’s open to exploring a trade potentially to Sydney.
“It will be fascinating to see what he actually says to Michael Voss, but those close to him believe that he’s still open to a move to Sydney, he’s talked about Gold Coast, and Geelong, to those closest to him.”
But while the dual Coleman medallist might desire a change in environment, Ralph added that the Blues are “reluctant to even discuss” the prospect of a trade, and that a deal would be mightily difficult for Sydney or another rival to orchestrate.
“Carlton’s view is that Curnow is virtually untradeable … that unless they won from a deal by getting an Errol Gulden or an Isaac Heeney or a Chad Warner, it’s not happening,” Ralph said on Monday night.
“They’re reluctant to even discuss it, because then it becomes something he thinks about. But they’d have to win comprehensively from it in what is Michael Voss’ last year of his contract.
“I think Carlton would laugh at any collection of former VFL types, Ollie Florent types, flankers, has-beens.”

In a down year for the Blues, Curnow this season kicked 32 goals in 18 games — his second-lowest career tally in the six seasons where he’s played 18 or more games.
Brisbane Lions legend Jonathan Brown said: “It’ll be interesting to see what (Curnow) suggests, because whenever a player suggests they want to leave, usually it gets done. So, it’s a big day for the Carlton Football Club tomorrow.”
Former Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley gave his thoughts on the possible price the Swans would have to pay to land Curnow in a trade.
“He might want a change. If it happens, it’s not just because he wants out of Carlton — he might feel like he needs stimulation in a change of environment to find his best footy,” Buckley told Fox Footy on Monday night.
“It (a trade) is not going to happen for one of those three (Gulden, Warner or Heeney), but a first (round draft pick) and a player would probably be about right, I reckon.”
