The NRL has unveiled the contenders to win a spot in the Dally M Team of the Year, with the top three in each position being named on Sunday alongside a shock pair up for the Provan-Summons Medal.
To earn selection in the Team of the Year, Judges vote on their best players in each position at “regular intervals throughout the season”.
A final judgement is made after 27 rounds are played, meaning overall Dally M votes don’t count towards a player’s selection.

Unless a player finishes in the top three of the overall vote, which means they automatically earn selection.
For positions that have two players, like the wing and back row slots, five players have been nominated to be named the best of their peers.
Due to their respective suspensions, which tallied two games or more, both Harry Grant and Joseph Tapine are not eligible for any Dally M awards.
Meanwhile, Lachlan Galvin and Jarome Luai have been nominated for a joint Provan-Summons Award.
The Provan-Summons Medal is awarded to the player deemed by the Dally M judges to have displayed the true ‘spirit of the game’.
Their post-match embrace has earned the pair a nomination and the potential to receive the prestigious award together.
