‘EVERY LAST DOLLAR’: DETAILS ON TROUBLED DOG’S MEETING WITH RIVAL
The playing future of Jamarra Ugle-Hagan could well hinge on the success of an upcoming meeting with Gold Coast.
Nine’s Chief Football Reporter Tom Morris reported on Monday night that the 23-year-old is set to meet with the Suns in the near future, and as expected, would cost them next to nothing in a trade.
“As far as we can tell, it’s really Gold Coast, or bust for Jamarra Ugle-Hagan,” Morris said.
“The club is doing its due diligence on the forward, and as part of this process, Ugle-Hagan’s management and the Suns are organising a meeting time.
“There’s still no certainty that Gold Coast will commit to the player, but the fact that they’re open to the meeting tells us it’s at least a consideration.
“The Bulldogs would let him go for a late draft pick and every last dollar of his $900,000 contract off their books.”
Ugle-Hagan won’t be at the club’s best and fairest event on Wednesday night, as he remains on personal leave.

DEES’ PLEA TO SUNS IN PETRACCA RACE
Melbourne are reportedly “desperate” for Gold Coast to inject themselves into the trade race for superstar Christian Petracca, as Adelaide’s own chase for him ramps up.
The 29-year-old yesterday touched down in Adelaide yesterday for a medical with the Crows, one week after foxfooty.com.au’s Will Faulkner first revealed Adelaide’s growing belief Petracca will request a trade to the club.
The Suns themselves are also interested in trading for the 2021 Norm Smith Medallist. However, given their added interest in trading for Carlton’s Charlie Curnow and intrigue around Jamarra Ugle-Hagan, they are yet to give their undivided attention to he and the Demons.
CODE Sports reported on Monday night that the Suns are adamant they would not part with young gun Bailey Humphrey as part of any deal, after speculation he may be the calibre of player Melbourne are looking for in return for Petracca.
Gold Coast’s draft hand for 2025 is strong to say the least, currently sitting with picks 6, 13, 16, 31, 56 and 67. But given their Academy talent in this year’s draft pool, the club won’t be willing to part with any more than they need to for a trade involving a ready-made star.
Any reasonable offer from the Suns for Petracca can naturally act as an indicator for what the Crows are expected to pay up with for Petracca.
Meanwhile at Adelaide, CODE Sports believes that Luke Pedlar could be a player involved in a trade for Christian Petracca, given his interest in playing more midfield time.
Adelaide currently holds a draft pick in each round both this year and in 2026.
