The Sea Eagles and Tony Mestrov are reportedly set to part ways, with the club’s chief executive making the decision to quit.
That is according to Code Sports, who are reporting Manly and Mestrov have made the mutual decision to part ways.
The call comes in the wake of Daly Cherry-Evans’ shock departure from the Sea Eagles, with the experienced halfback announcing the 2025 season would be his last in Manly in March.

Mestrov was reportedly at the centre of negotiations to extend Cherry-Evans’ stay in Brookvale.
However, he was ultimately unsuccessful is retaining the club legend, who ended his Sea Eagles career with 352 games, the most of any player.
Cherry-Evans will reportedly sign a two-year contract with the Roosters, with the second season set to be trigged by an option in his new deal.
Mestrov previously played for Manly as a prop, playing 17 games between 1990 and 1992.
He took over as the Sea Eagles’ chief executive in 2022 and the club will reportedly make an announcement regarding his departure later in the week.

As Fox Sports News reporter Cody Kaye explained on Monday afternoon, it is major news for Manly specifically because of the role Mestrov plays in the retention of its biggest names.
“Tony looks after sort of the top echelon of paid players at that club,” Kaye said.
“Now, given that Jake Trbojevic is off contract there for next year and they are in a pretty delicate negotiation with Jake at the moment, I’m not quite sure now who deals with it.
“They’ve got Peter Gentle, the head of football. But certainly, Tony would be the one that signs off on that. That’s how that club is structured.
“Reuben Garrick is a free agent at the moment. Tolu Koula has a player option in his favour for 2027.
“I reckon there’d be a few clubs all of a sudden sitting up paying attention to the big names on Manly’s roster that all of a sudden might be more available than they were before.”
