Much-loved AFL coach Ken hinkley joins Fox Footy commentary team for 2026

Highly respected former AFL coach Ken Hinkley will join the world-class Fox Footy commentary team in 2026.

Hinkley, who led Port Adelaide to four Preliminary Finals across his 12-year tenure, will provide expert analysis and insights as part of Fox Footy’s comprehensive game day coverage, available to stream on Kayo SPORTS, throughout the year.

In his new role, Hinkley will be a prominent voice across Fox Footy’s live broadcasts, teaming up with Adelaide Crows great Mark Ricciuto and former Port Adelaide star Shaun Burgoyne in the commentary box, providing unparalleled insight into the two South Australian clubs.

Hinkley said he was excited for this new chapter: “Joining the Fox Footy team is a great opportunity for me to work with some great people in our game and keep me closely connected to the game that I love.

“Hopefully I can give the footy fans some insight into how the modern game is played and coached today. I can’t wait to get started, particularly at Adelaide Oval with Roo and Shaun — should make Showdowns very exciting from the commentary box. Bring it on.”

Hinkley played 132 VFL/AFL games throughout his career, including 121 for Geelong and 11 for Fitzroy. He was a three-time Grand Finalist, two-time All-Australian and won Geelong’s best and fairest in 1992.

As a coach, he led Port Adelaide for 297 games becoming the longest serving coach in the club’s AFL history. Prior to joining Port Adelaide he had stints as assistant coach at St Kilda, Geelong and Gold Coast.
