In-demand Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi’s transfer preference has reportedly become clear — but he mightn’t be going anywhere just yet.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are thought to be readying a big-money move for Real Madrid ace Vinicius Junior.

Guehi reportedly prefers a move to one of Liverpool or Arsenal over Manchester City, but there’s every chance the Palace standout doesn’t depart his current club until the European summer.
The Athletic’s Sam Lee, who covers Manchester City closely, revealed the latest whispers he’d heard regarding Guehi.
“On Monday night, I was told by somebody who knows what’s going on at City — but also I think probably Palace as well — he said he thinks Guehi wants to stay until the summer and he prefers Liverpool in any case,” he said on the Let Me Talk podcast.
“Somebody else messaged me on Twitter, and I know he’s very good on other club stuff, he was like ‘yeah, he wants to stay until the summer, and he prefers Liverpool and Arsenal’.
“I was like ‘well, I haven’t heard Arsenal,’ but that kind of tallies what I’d been told the night before.”
Guehi would be another huge addition for title favourites Arsenal, who spent big last summer, while the Palace star would propel a Liverpool defence which has struggled this season.
It comes after the 25-year-old, whose contract expires this year, was also linked to City, with the highly-respected Fabrizio Romano recently revealing: “Manchester City want to sign Marc Guehi in January as talks started, initial approach made. He’s on the shortlist.”

Chelsea is set to break the bank for one of the sport’s biggest up-and-coming stars, and it comes as the club’s new coach gets settled in the hot seat.
According to Fichajes in Spain, the Blues are set to offer £130 million (AU$260,514,800) to Real Madrid for Vinicius Junior, which if the fee were agreed would break the British transfer record.
It had been reported in November that Chelsea and Manchester City were frontrunners for Vinicius’ services if the forward were to leave Spanish giants Madrid — a prospect which is becoming more of a possibility.
And while ESPN reports staying at Madrid “remains the player’s preference”, their insiders also aren’t ruling out a departure in the summer, with Vinicius going goalless over his past 16 games.
A Blues bid of such whopping proportions for the 25-year-old forward would be a boost to new coach Liam Rosenior as he aims to improve the club on its current eighth-place standing in the Premier League.
The British transfer record remains the £106.3m (AU$213,096,421) that Chelsea paid Benfica to sign Enzo Fernández in 2023.
