The 2026 Formula 1 season gets underway with this weekend’s Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, with all eyes on hometown hero Oscar Piastri.
No Australian has ever finished on the podium across the 39 editions of the race dating back to the inaugural event in Adelaide in 1985, although Piastri came close last year after qualifying on the front row behind teammate Lando Norris.
