UNITED WELCOME BACK TWO-TIME DPOY AHEAD OF MUST-WIN CLASH
Melbourne United will face the Tasmania JackJumpers in a must-win clash with a familiar and important face returning to the lineup.
In a statement released by the club, United confirmed that two-time Defensive Player of the Year Shea Ili will suit up against the JackJumpers.
“Shea Ili has been cleared to play in Thursday night’s Play-In Qualifier game against the Tasmania JackJumpers,” the team announced.
“This will be Ili’s first game back since Round 21 against the Cairns Taipans.”
It is a major boost for United. Despite appearing in just ten games this season, Ili still holds the sixth-best plus/minus on the roster at +7.1.
The return comes at a crucial time for Melbourne, with injuries throughout the season preventing the star guard from building consistency.
