Gout Gout could barely move on Friday, which makes his 100m performance on Saturday simply incredible.

The Aussie sprint phenom had been battling a brutal flu that derailed his bid for a history-making sub-10-second run in Brisbane on Saturday.
However, that couldn’t even stop the 18-year-old from being crowned Queensland under-20s 100-metre champion.
The teen sensation posted 10.28s in the heats with an illegal wind (+2.3m/s) before a legal tail wind (+1.5m/s) saw Gout improve on that time (10.20s) in the final in the Queensland Athletics Championships at QSAC.
Callan Jensen finished second in 10.67 seconds, about three metres behind, and Kyan Dotta took third in 10.80.
Just three weeks ago, Gout sizzled on the same track, posting 10-seconds flat, his fastest legal time.
Patrick Johnson’s Australian 100m record of 9.93s, set in Tokyo 23 years ago, is still the fastest legal time by an Aussie.
Gout ran a wind-assisted 9.99s last April at the Australian Athletics Championships and was hopeful he could finally crack the mark this weekend.
However, the teen was understandably not downtrodden about not cracking the 10 second barrier, revealing how ill he had been.
“Yeah, I was bedridden (on Friday),” the Queensland teenager told Code Sports.
“I am feeling a bit better, I still have got congestion in my throat, but it’s alright, at the end of the day I still have to go out there and run.
“I feel a bit better, but it was still a factor.”
