Sailor has admitted to resisting arrest after a night of drinking at the Illawarra Master Builders Club in Wollongong on December 5, 2025, court documents tendered to the court and seen by NewsWire state.
Shortly after he left the sports bar he was kicked out of a cab for being “aggressive” towards the driver, with police finding him stumbling and swaying through traffic nearby soon after.
The 51-year-old became argumentative and abused police after he was asked to leave the roadway for the safety of himself and others, prompting his arrest.
Sailor became increasingly aggressive, trying to avoid being placed in handcuffs by tensing his arms and attempting to brace himself against the side of the police car as officers attempted to get him inside.
After police finally managed to get him in the car, the former NRL player refused to get out of the vehicle at the police station, causing multiple officers to step in.
It took a total of nine police officers to get him into a custody area inside the station, the court documents revealed.
“The accused continued to act aggressively and abused police repeatedly. Due to the aggressive and hostile nature of the accused, it was deemed a safety risk to allow him to leave his dock,” the documents state.
‘F**king call the cops and see what happens’
Sailor had been on bail at the time for an incident at Pappy’s Bar in Sydney’s CBD nearly a year prior.
He became “aggressive and agitated” with a group of people at the bar on the evening of November 6, 2024, with the bar manager noticing Sailor and an unknown man “arcing up to each other” before asking both to leave, court documents tendered on Monday state.
Sailor yelled “he was trying to fight me” as the manager asked him to leave the premises at least four times.
“Yeah call the cops,” Sailor replied when the staffer said police would be called.
Sailor yelled out at the bar manager as he put the call in to police, telling him “you’re f**king done”.
“F**king call the cops and see what happens. Do you know who I am? You’re f**king done,” Sailor shouted at him over the bar, the documents state.
Police arrived within minutes and began speaking with Sailor outside until the former NRL player spotted the man he claimed was trying to fight him outside, running after him as officers called for backup.
“He was sweating profusely, agitated, hostile, argumentative throughout the entire interaction with police,” the court documents state.
According to the documents, Sailor claimed to police at the time that his arrest was racially motivated.
He has pleaded guilty to remaining in the vicinity of a licensed premises after being asked to leave, and stalking and intimidation intending fear of physical harm in relation to the Erskineville bar incident, and a single charge of hindering or resisting police in the execution of duty over the Wollongong incident.
He will learn his fate over the incidents later this month.
