Foran, 35, was appointed interim head coach for the remainder of the year after the club last Friday axed Seibold, who has held the top job at Manly since 2023.
Manly have had a disastrous start to the season with three straight losses at home, including a golden point loss to Canberra, being out-enthused by an injury ravaged Newcastle, and a thrashing at the hands of Daly Cherry-Evans led Roosters side.
Ahead of his first game helming the Sea Eagles, Foran – who was an assistant coach under Sielbold this season – told reporters he has not been able to get in touch with his predecessor, despite calling him.
“I haven’t had a conversation with Anthony as of yet,” Foran said.
“I gave him a call once I saw the news (of Seibold’s sacking) on Friday evening.”
Foran said he feels for Seibold, who brought the Manly legend on as an assistant coach, but said he was backing the club’s decision to part ways.
“Anthony has been amazing for me and my coaching development early on in this path,” Foran said.

“He gave me an opportunity to come back to Manly, I thoroughly enjoyed working under him.
“He has been nothing but a pleasure to learn under, to work under.
“I’m feeling for him for sure, it’s only natural to feel for someone who puts a lot of effort into what they do.
“It’s the job for the club to make those decisions, and they’ve made it and now we just get on with it.
“They have got the right to make the decisions that they feel is in the best interest of the club and you get on and you back it.”
Seibold had a spotty record as Manly coach, winning 37 of his 77 games and making just one finals series.
His exit was premature given the club had extended his contract through to the end of 2027.
Foran will have the task of getting the club he won a premiership with as a player in 2011 their first win of the year on Thursday when Manly take on the Dolphins at Kayo Stadium.
