Like most parents, Adam Gilchrist does his best to raise his four children the best way he can.
The swashbuckling former cricketer and wife Melinda have three boys and a girl, with Harry the eldest at 21 and Ted the youngest at 12 years of age.
In between are Annie, 18, and 16-year-old Archie.

Gilchrist is revered as one of the most entertaining cricketers of all-time, carving out a 13-year career in the national set up as a wicketkeeper and batsman, before moving into commentary while also juggling charity and business interests.
But parenting is naturally never far from the 52-year-old’s mind.
“Set an example and then hope to gain your child’s respect,” the man known as “Gilly” wrote in an Instagram post this week.
“All you can ask for as a parent. Cheers @harrygilchrist.”
The only issue?
The post was accompanied by photos of Harry in less than flattering positions.
Technically the first one is fine, lovely even, with son Harry posing alongside a sign at Adam Gilchrist Park in Lismore, the northern NSW town Gilly moved to as a teenager.
Harry is even smiling politely in the first snap, not always the easiest action to convince a 21-year-old to do in a photograph.
But the second photo is the one that has sent the social media platform alight.
In it, Harry is seen simulating – we sincerely hope – the act of urinating on that very sign adorned with his famous dad’s name.
The post has over 25,000 likes and drew comments from a who’s who of Australian cricket.
“That’s gold,” wrote Gilly’s former teammate Damien Martyn, along with fire and cry-laughing emojis.
“You wouldn’t have it any other way,” replied former state cricketer and ex-North Melbourne AFL president James Brayshaw.
Beth Mooney and Jason Gillespie relied on emojis only, the former replying with one cry-laughing emoji, “Dizzy” taking it a step further with 10 rolling on the floor laughing emojis.
The Kayo Sports account couldn’t help itself, commenting “takin’ the piss”.
The ABC Sport account also jumped on board on its X account, formerly Twitter.
In a post showing the offending photo and Gilly’s caption, it wrote simply: “Parenting goals.”
