Star Geelong recruit Bailey Smith faces his old side the Western Bulldogs for the first time in a blockbuster to open Round 11.
The Cats (6-4, 123.4%) are without injured superstar skipper Patrick Dangerfield but Smith has combined with fellow young gun Max Holmes to keep their midfield firing all year.
The Bulldogs (6-4, 132.6%) are one of the hottest teams in footy since Marcus Bontempelli’s return five weeks ago and will be keen to keep their old teammate quiet.

FEATURE: Bailey Smith is a truly unique Cat. But being so ‘un-Geelong-like’ has made him their new ‘king’
Smith did not train with the main group during the week with the Herald Sun’s Jon Ralph reporting pre-match: “Bailey Smith is still expected to play, but he will be sore off a five-day break, a bruising contest and interstate travel. He has barely trained. It’s not the calf that saw him miss early in the year but like many players he won’t be 100 per cent.”
There were no late changes with Ted Clohesy (Geelong) and Lachie Bramble (Bulldogs) the subs.
The match gets underway at 7:30pm AEST from GMHBA Stadium.
Watch it live on Fox Footy (channel 504) and streaming on Kayo from 6:30pm AEST.
