The Sharks took a 12-6 lead when they were awarded a controversial penalty try.
Teig Wilton out leapt Tyrell Sloan to catch a Sharks bomb but was held up by Sloan over the line.
However, as Sloan technically wrapped his arms around Wilton while the Sharks forward was in the air, the Bunker were of the belief that try would have been scored had Sloan not committed the infraction.
It’s a tough one to agree with as Sloan was going for the ball and couldn’t have done much more.
“That’s unfortunate for Tyrell Sloan because he didn’t do much wrong,” Dan Ginnane said.
“Interesting penalty try.”
Dragons skipper Clint Gutherson was asked about the try by Fox League’s Lara Pitt at half time.
“Penalty try?” Pitt asked.
“Ask the rulebook,” Gutherson replied with a chuckle.
