Australia’s Cam Davis reignited his tournament with a stunning hole out for eagle as Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau have all pushed towards the top of the leaderboard.
World No.1 Scheffler and the pair of LIV Golf stars have jostled for the lead for much of the third round at Quail Hollow in North Carolina.
Si Woo Kim, who dazzled with the longest hole-in-one in major history yesterday, overnight leader Jhonattan Vegas, Davis Riley, Matt Fitzpatrick and Matthieu Pavon have been battling it out with Scheffler, Rahm and DeChambeau with the leading score standing at -7 and 14 players within two shots of the lead at the time of writing.

Rory McIlroy has been unable to be among his rivals, however. The Masters champion is +1 for the round, +2 overall, with eight holes to play as his struggles continue after news broke yesterday of his driver being found to be illegal before the tournament began.
Windy conditions have made the going tough on moving day, and tournament organisers decided to send the players out in groups of three due to fears of inclement weather disrupting things.

But there have been no suspensions in play as the ever-changing leaderboard has kept the drama at a high.
Davis was a good example of it as he flicked his wedge shot straight in the cup from 58 yards out at the par 5 15th to make the most of his momentum generated by back-to-back birdies at the previous two holes.
The 30-year-old is back to -3 overall with three holes to play, one behind compatriot Adam Scott who is two-under for the day in the same group.
Elvis Smylie was the other Australian to make the cut and he is had a tough day, sitting at +3 for his round, and +4 overall, after 11 holes.
