Cricket Australia has confirmed that two members of the national women’s team were “touched inappropriately” by a motorcyclist while walking the streets of Indore this week.
On Saturday, reports emerged that local police had arrested a man that was allegedly involved in the incident, which occurred in the Khajrana Road area on Thursday morning.
“CA can confirm two members of the Australian Women’s team were approached and touched inappropriately by a motorcyclist while walking to a cafe in Indore,” CA said in a statement.
“The matter was reported by team security to police who are handling the matter.”
The Australian women’s team is currently in India for the World Cup campaign, hoping to defend the title they won in New Zealand in 2022. They will play South Africa in Indore on Saturday, with the first ball scheduled for 8.30pm AEDT.
