The curtain closes on BBL|15 tonight, with the 44th and final match delivering a grand final shootout between a powerhouse Perth Scorchers outfit and a star-studded Sydney Sixers at Optus Stadium.
The visiting Sixers had to take the long road to the big dance after their 48-run loss on Tuesday to Perth, before defeating reigning premiers Hobart on Friday night after yet another Steve Smith masterclass.

The Scorchers are chasing an incredible sixth-ever Big Bash title tonight, having long been considered the tournament’s team to beat over a 15-year span.
Sydney will hardly be a walkover though, and have arguably been the only other franchise who can be spoken of in a similar vein to Perth over an extended period. BBL|15 marks the seventh straight season where the ‘Men in Magenta’ have finished their season third or higher, inclusive of two championships since their maiden title in the inaugural season.
22-year-old young gun Joel Davies, who has been a revelation this summer for the visitors, spoke to the switch in his side’s mentality after a slow start to the season.

“We definitely did sit down at the Renegades game beforehand. I think we were one and three at the time and it was sort of a do-or-die,” Daives told Big Bash podcast The Surge.
“Moises (Henriques) sat us down and just said ‘backs against the wall, but we don’t want to change the way we play.’
“We know we are such a good side and to see us in the final now after being one and three shows that our cricket’s good enough.”
The Sixers fly to Perth with an unchanged squad to the one that defeated Hobart on Friday night, spearheaded by Australian Test superstars Smith and Mitchell Starc.
As for the Scorchers, Joel Paris returned as an extra left-arm seam option in place of top-order bat Sam Fanning, though ultimately wasn’t selected.
‘The Decider’ will be broadcast live on Fox Cricket, available via Foxtel on Channel 501 and streaming on Kayo Sports.
The Scorchers won the bat flip (toss) and elected to bowl first, with the first ball bowled at 4.20pm local time (7:20pm AEDT).
There is some wet weather forecast for Sunday, although the Bureau of Meteorology is only predicting a shower or two and up to one millimetre of rain to fall pre-game.
