It’s do or die for both the Stars and Renegades in Sunday’s Melbourne Derby as both teams fight for a spot in the BBL14 finals.

The Stars are the in-form side, having won their past three matches – yet they find themselves anchored at the bottom of the table.
They are stuck in a three-win logjam that runs from fourth-placed Brisbane, and includes the Renegades who have a game in hand on the rest of those teams.
The Renegades meantime are flying high after their miracle win over the Scorchers, coming back from 4-10 to claim victory in Perth.
But they’ll be without import Laurie Evans, who has departed for Dubai, and Jono Wells who has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
The ‘Gades will need Jake Fraser-McGurk to fire in a bid to end his record run drought, but could also turn to Australian under 19 representative Harry Dixon who is in line for a BBL debut.
Dixon scored the third most runs in the 2024 Under-19 World Cup in South Africa and could be a surprise addition in the must-win clash for the Gades.
