Included, an option for a third year in 2029.
Barnett was a popular man since announcing he had been granted an early release from his Warriors contract on compassionate grounds in order to return to Australia.
The Blues rep was chased hard by the Eels, Broncos and Sea Eagles. The Dragons were said to be interested but the Red V didn’t make an offer.
It was reported that Parramatta made a three-year offer worth up to $2.6 million but it has since come to light that their offer was only for two years.
For the Broncos, they land a suitable replacement for superstar prop Payne Haas, who is South Sydney bound.
Barnett played alongside Haas in the Blues’ forward pack in 2024 and 2025, winning an Origin series under Broncos coach Michael Maguire two years ago.
It’s a huge coup for the defending premiers, who will also add promising halfback Jonah Pezet on a multi-year deal from 2027.
Even without Haas, the addition of Barnett and Pezet will ensure the Broncos will remain well placed in premiership calculations.
The Warriors have stated that they will require some compensation in order to let Barnett go a season early, however what that is has yet to be reported.
