Kansas City Police confirmed that “multiple people” have been shot near the Chief’s Super Bowl parade.
Gunfire erupted west of Union Station towards the end of the festivities on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Police said they are still working to determine the number of shooting victims and have asked parade-goers to leave the area immediately.
Two armed people have been taken into custody, cops said.
WTAE reorter Andrew Stockey confirmed on X that Chiefs players and their families were unharmed.
“Spoke with family for Chiefs receiver and South Fayette grad Justin Watson,” Stockey wrote.
“He tells his family the players and the players’ families who were inside Union Station are safe.”
