Sea Eagles prop Taniel Paseka could be racing the clock to be fit for Round 1 after suffering an AC joint injury against Souths on Saturday.

Paseka went up the tunnel with medical staff after coming down awkwardly on his shoulder ina tackle in the first half.
“AC joint, he’ll have to go for scans and it will be a nervous wait (to see) if he can kick off the official season with the opener around the corner,” James Hooper said on Fox League.
“It’s a long year with an AC joint problem (in February), that’s a tough year. First trial game and you do your AC joint, he will carry that all season, it will be needles all year to get him on the field,” Greg Alexander responded.
HYNES INJURY SCARE
The Sharks will be sweating on an adductor injury scare to star halfback Nicho Hynes after he was put on ice after leading his side to a 40-10 victory over the Raiders.
Hynes came off in the second half and iced his hamstring, but the Sharks revealed it was just a precaution.
“Breathe easy Sharks fans, just went and checked on Nicho Hynes and he was scheduled to come off at that time anyway,” Jake Duke said on Fox League.
“They put a little bit of ice on his leg for a little bit of feeling there, but no issues for Nicho.”
However Hynes wasn’t quite as emphatic in his post match interview.
“Just a little bit of a tight adductor, but I think it was the plan to play that long anyway,” Hynes said.
BRONCOS HOOKER SUFFERS INJURY BLOW
Broncos young gun Blake Mozer has suffered an untimely blow with the exciting hooker suffering a shoulder injury just three weeks out from the season kicking off.
The club confirmed that Mozer will miss Round 1 after suffering the injury at training this week.
“He’ll begin a rehab program this week and will be involved in non-contact sessions for at least a month. We don’t expect him to be available for Round 1,” Broncos Head of Performance Dave Ballard said.
It’s an unfortunate setback for the 20-year-old, who was a good chance of making the 17 for Round 1.
While the Broncos didn’t provide details on when the former Queensland under 19s representative will be back on the field, News Corprevealed the severity of the injury.
According toNews Corp, Mozer could end up requiring surgery, which would rule him out for the season. However the Broncos will try to rehab the shoulder injury first before going down that road.
The Broncos’ hooking battle is mighty crowded, with Mozer up against Billy Walters, Cory Paix, Tyson Smoothy and ultimately Ben Hunt later in the season.
