Controversial Port Adelaide great Warren Tredrea says he’s “concerned about the actions” of key Power officials after being removed from the club’s board on Friday.
It comes months after a review into his tenure was officially launched, following concerns over antisemitic comments made on his podcast by a guest.
On Friday afternoon, it was revealed that Tredrea, who kicked 549 goals across 255 games between 1997 and 2010, had been ousted by fellow club directors.

Tredrea responded in a personal statement on Friday afternoon but said he’d open up further in due course.
“Thank you to all PAFC members for the opportunity to represent you—it’s been an enlightening couple of years, something I felt was important to do for PAFC,” he said.
“I am concerned about the actions taken by a number of important people at our club which have led to my dismissal today.
“I will be making further and fuller statements in the future but for now I’d just like to wish Josh, Lauren and the entire AFL, AFLW and SANFL playing group every success going forward.”

In late June, Port Adelaide confirmed it was conducting a review into Tredrea’s position amid concerns over podcast content he published.
Tredrea’s removal is linked to comments made by British army veteran AJ Roberts in May on The Ballsy Show.
At the time, Jewish Council of Australia boss Max Kaiser condemned Roberts’ comments regarding Israel and the 9/11 terror attacks, claiming the podcast episode was an “amplification of far-right antisemitic conspiracy theories”.
Roberts had referred to Israel as a “fake state” created by “the same Zionists who were controlling World War II”.
A statement released on Friday regarding Tredrea’s dismissal revealed that the former goalkicker “refused” the club’s ultimatum — to apologise to the club and anyone who took offence to the podcast comments — on “numerous” occasions.
“The Board conducted a governance review earlier this year. Following that review, the Board sought to engage with Mr Tredrea to agree certain actions to be taken by him in his capacity as a Director,” it read.
“Amongst other things, the Board formally requested that Mr Tredrea agree to a Club Statement which included an apology to the Club and anyone who took offence to the comments made on his podcast by Mr AJ Roberts.
“Mr Tredrea refused to agree with the public apology request to close out the matter. The Board has afforded Mr Tredrea numerous opportunities to reconsider his position, which he has not changed.
“After exhausting all reasonable avenues for resolution, the Board determined that Mr Tredrea’s continuation as a Director was not in the best interests of the Club.

“With the support of the AFL, the process was implemented in accordance with the Corporations Act and the Club’s Constitution.
“The Board prides itself on operating in a collaborative and productive way to best deliver outcomes to the Club and its members. Where these values cannot be upheld, good governance requires appropriate action to be taken.
“The Board wishes to make clear: this is a governance matter relating to its expectations of Club Directors.
“It is not, and should never be interpreted as, a reflection on Warren Tredrea’s extraordinary contribution to Port Adelaide as a player. Warren Tredrea is a Premiership captain, Club Champion, and one of the greatest players to represent the Club. His legacy as a player is secure and will forever be celebrated by this Club and our members.
“That legacy remains untarnished and separate from this governance decision.
“The Board remains focused on its responsibilities to lead Port Adelaide Football Club with integrity and in the best interests of all members.
“The Club will advise in due course on the next steps for the members to elect a new Director at the next Annual General Meeting.
“The Club will make no further comment on this matter.”
