The fallout of England’s Ashes defeat has begun, with chief selector Luke Wright announcing his resignation.
Wright was in charge for three years and will finish up at the conclusion of next month’s Twenty20 World Cup.

The change comes amid a sweeping review of England’s off field personnel, including the roles of director of cricket Rob Key and coach Brendon McCullum.
Wright said “time feels right to pass the baton” after a significant period away from his young family.
“It has been a true honour and privilege to serve as an England Men’s Selector over the past three years,” he said.
“I have fully immersed myself in the role and am incredibly proud of the players we have brought through.
“The role demands significant travel and time away from home and with a young family the time feels right to pass the baton on to the next person.
“I now look forward with real interest and enthusiasm to whatever cricketing roles the future may hold.
“I would like to say a big thank you to my colleagues at the ECB, the players and coaches I’ve worked alongside and especially Rob Key, who trusted me with such a responsibility.”
The pressure on Key and McCullum was already high after the 4-1 Ashes defeat but it only intensified in the news of Harry Brook’s run-in with a bouncer in New Zealand.
Brook was involved in an altercation with the nightclub security member just hours before he led England into an ODI.
The short-format captain was fined £30,000 pounds but his position was unaffected.
Key and McCullum appear safe in the interim but confirmation on their future is likely to be determined after the World Cup.
England’s post Ashes recovery started poorly after Sri Lanka won the first One-Day International by 19 runs on Thursday night.
