Crowd fight erupts in wild scenes following Swans and Lions clash as police launch investigation

Police are investigating a violent brawl at The Gabba on Saturday night, which left several fans bloodied and bruised.

Just minutes after the Swans defeated the Lions 92-90 in a thrilling game, a crowd fight broke out.

FOX FOOTY, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every match of every round in the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season LIVE in 4K, with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? Join now and get your first month for just $1.

Vision shows several fans throwing down in unsavoury scenes, with a push and shove quickly escalating into an all-in brawl.

In the brief clip, two women are seen grabbing each other by the hair and wailing punches, while several men in the background are also involved in a scuffle, punching and pushing one another.

Both police and stadium security eventually stepped in to break up the fight, with those involved being ejected from the venue.

The brawl was understood to have left several pundits bloodied and bruised.

News.com.au understands no one involved in the brawl has been charged as of Monday morning, but investigations are still ongoing.

News.com.au has contacted Queensland Police for comment.

Broadcaster calls out AFL fan behaviour

The latest incident comes amid a concerning trend of rowdy fan behaviour at the footy.

Last month, Andy Maher found himself caught in the middle of ugly scenes at the MCG while watching his beloved Blues.

The sports journalist and broadcaster was approached by a fellow spectator who leaned over and spoke to him for around two minutes before he was escorted out.

“Hopefully he woke up the next morning feeling like a right git because he carried on like a pork chop,” Maher said following the ordeal on his SEN ‘The Run Home With Gazey And Andy’ show.

“If he’d have just turned around and sat down and watched the last three minutes of the game and stopped doing whatever he was doing, he would have been fine.”

Maher also pointed out that the unruly behaviour was becoming all too common at footy games.

“There’s too much of that going on at the footy,” he continued.

“There are too many blokes going and getting (drunk) at the footy these days. There’s too much of it.

“There are too many blokes going to the footy – go to the footy and have a few beers, by all means – but why do so many people have to go the footy and get three sheets to the breeze? Why does that happen?”

Maher went on to say: “Why can’t you just go to the footy and have a couple of beers? Why do you have to come along and get yourself munted and then make a fool of yourself and ruin everyone else’s experience?”
