The first T20 between Australia and the West Indies gets underway at Hobart’s Bellerive Oval on Friday evening, with the tourists looking to bounce back after suffering a 3-0 series whitewash in the ODIs.
Mitchell Marsh will lead the Australians, taking over the captaincy for the first time since last year’s white-ball tour of South Africa, while Rovman Powell will take charge of the West Indies.
Travis Head returns to the Australian squad, along with Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Wade and Josh Hazlewood, while veteran opener David Warner is back from the United Arab Emirates for his final series as an Australian cricketer on home soil.
The Australians have not lost a men’s T20I against the West Indies at home since 2013. The first ball is scheduled for 7pm AEDT.
