Melbourne has referred what appears to be a threat to senior coach Simon Goodwin on social media to the AFL’s integrity unit.
The social media post appeared on the X platform at around 6pm on Sunday night after the Demons’ fade-out loss to St Kilda.
An anonymous account named ‘Kozzy Owns You’ posted a picture of a car in a carpark, along with the caption: “I’m currently waiting outside Simon Goodwin’s car: Don’t fret Melbourne fans you won’t need to worry any further.”

It’s understood the car in the photo doesn’t belong to Goodwin, nor was the image taken at Marvel Stadium.
A Melbourne spokesperson confirmed to foxfooty.com.au the club was aware of the post and have reported it to the AFL integrity unit.
The AFL is aware of the matter and expected to comment on Monday.

It comes just weeks after a Collingwood fan received a five-year ban from the AFL and all MCG events for directing a threatening message to Carlton coach Michael Voss.
Goodwin’s Demons lost Sunday’s clash to the Saints despite leading by 46 points at the last change in the biggest ever comeback at three-quarter time.
Melbourne gave up a costly 6-6-6 infringement in the dying seconds of the game, leading to Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera’s goal after the siren as the Dees sunk to 6-13 on the season.

Goodwin described the loss as “unacceptable”.
“We won’t shy away from it at all. We won’t sugar-coat it,” he said.
“We’ll just own it and do something about it and make sure it never happens again. Today is unacceptable. For all the good that was in the day, that last quarter was so far off.”
Reports on Monday have stated state Melbourne is set to hold a scheduled board meeting on Monday as pressure builds on Goodwin, who’s contracted for 2025.
