‘DOING THE SAME S***’: FORMER SAINT SLAMS EX-TEAMMATE AFTER SCARY WR COLLISION
Former New Orleans wide receiver Michael Thomas has sounded off on his former quarterback after a scary incident in the Saints’ game against the Carolina Panthers.
Just minutes into the Saints-Panthers matchup in Charlotte, New Orleans WR Chris Olave was sandwiched between two Carolina defenders as Carr attempted to fit the ball into a tight window to Olave.
The 24-year-old was left severely impacted by the heavy contact, carted off the field and transported to a nearby medical centre after being diagnosed with a concussion.
Meanwhile, Thomas, who played in New Orleans between 2016 and 2023 but with Carr for just his final season in the Big Easy, wasn’t the least bit pleased with Carr’s decision to throw the ball to Olave in a tight window and place the young receiver in a vulnerable position.
He claimed Carr was ‘scared’ and ‘panicked’ and hurriedly threw the ball to Olave to avoid contact.
“Get him the f*** out of here, he (is) so a**,” a frustrated Thomas wrote on X in reaction.
Thomas also addressed his own unceremonious New Orleans exit as part of the tirade.
“Dude (Carr) tried to lie and say I was jealous of them making Chris (Olave) WR1 (and the) whole time he (Carr) can’t even get him a decent ball.
“He needs his a** whooped.”
But he wasn’t finished there, also going at Carr’s ex-teammate Davante Adams for their time at the Las Vegas Raiders.
“They fired all (the) coaches trying to cover his flaws up, he still doing the same s***,” Thomas said of Carr’s play under centre.
“That year his buddy (Adams) went 1st team All Pro in 2022 he needed 180 targets just to catch 100 passes. He is a**.”
The now-31-year-old Thomas recorded 1,000-plus receiving yards in four of his eight seasons with the Saints, including 1,725 yards in 2019 when he was the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year.
ROOKIE QB’S CLUTCH MOMENT IN DYING STAGES
New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye threw an unbelievable game-tying touchdown pass as time expired in the fourth quarter against the Tennessee Titans.
Down 17-10 and with the game clock hitting zeroes, a scrambling Maye lofted a hopeful pass into the endzone to running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who came down with control of the ball to force overtime in Nashville.
However, Maye’s heroics wouldn’t continue into the extra period, throwing a game-losing interception as the Titans capped a 20-17 win at home.
The former University of North Carolina star finished 29-41 passing for 206 yards, one TD and two interceptions. He also rushed eight times for 95 yards in the loss.
Tennessee’s Mason Rudolph again quarterbacked the Titans in the absence of injured starter Will Levis, capping the day 20-33 for 240 yards with two TDs and one interception.
The Titans improved to 2-6 on the season, while the Patriots fell to 2-7.
