Star Dragons signing Luciano Leilua has reportedly had his two-game suspension halved after St George successfully appealed an NRL breach notice handed to the former Cowboy.
Leilua failed to disclose a low-range drink driving offence to the NRL integrity unit or to the North Queensland Cowboys before fronting court on February 7 in Townsville.
Leilua was suspended from driving for a month after pleading guilty to recording a blood alcohol reading of 0.052 after being stopped by police on January 21. He was also fined $300 by the court.

He was released by the Cowboys in the aftermath of his latest indiscretion and was subsequently signed by the Dragons on a three-year deal worth around $600,000 a season. The Dragons said in a statement this week they were “fully aware” of the potential breach prior to signing the player.
Now his new club have claimed an early win, successfully seeing the two-game ban handed down by the NRL halved. The second match will now be suspended, as will half of the $10,000 fine handed down by the NRL.
Under the new punishment, Leilua will undergo education and training.
It means Leilua is free to play in round two against the Dolphins.
The news was initially reported by News Corp, with the Dragons seemingly confirming the report when they wrote on their club website that Leilua would be available in round two.
