It’s finally here.
The 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup gets underway at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium this Thursday, with New Zealand and England facing off in a rematch of the unforgettable 2019 final.
Ten teams will play 48 ODIs across six weeks, building up towards the final, also at Narendra Modi Stadium, on November 19.
Hosts India, ranked No. 1 in the world, loom as the tournament favourites, but England and Australia boast experience and talent in their squads.

FORMAT
Each of the ten nations will play each other once in a 45-match group stage, with the top four teams qualifying for the knockouts. Two points will be awarded for a win, with one point given to both teams if there is no result.
If teams are on equal points at the end of the group stage, their placing will be determined by net run rate. First place will play fourth place and second will take on third in the semi-finals, with the winners of each match qualifying for the November 19 final.
Any matches that end in a tie, including during the group stage, will be decided by a Super Over. If the Super Over is also tied, they will immediately play another Super Over (so not boundary counts this time, sorry England).
Reserve days have been allocated for the semi-finals and final.
HOW TO WATCH
All 48 matches will be broadcast live and ad-free on Fox Cricket (Channel 501) and streaming platform Kayo Sports.
Kayo also has ‘Mini’ highlights packages and full replays following each match.

Semi-finalists – US$800,000
Group stage – US$100,000
Total prize pool – US$10 million
The winners of each of the 45 group stage matches also pocket US$40,000 per victory.
