A century for Kurtis Patterson powered New South Wales into the One-Day Cup final, repelling a brilliant Queensland performance which included a Marnus Labuschagne ton and Mitch Swepson 7-fa.
NSW began their chase of Tasmania’s 274 at Bellerive Oval knowing they needed to reach the target inside 40 overs to book a rematch against the Tigers in March 11’s final.

After Josh Philippe’s blistering 58 (29), which included six fours and three sixes, Patterson finished 125* (89) including a 68-ball century.
It saw his state reach the target in just 31 overs, posting his fifth domestic century of the season.
Tasmania had been led by Mitch Owen’s 35 off just 12 deliveries along with Charlie Wakim’s 76 (73) in the middle order, as Ryan Hadley took 5-69.
Earlier Queensland had given themselves a shot at the final by demolishing South Australia thanks to a pair of Aussie Test players.
Labuschagne made 126 (137), his record-equalling fourth century of the One-Day Cup season, to power the Bulls to 260.
That was more than enough thanks to Swepson who took a brilliant 7-28, the third-best figures in One-Day Cup history behind Sam Elliott’s 7-12 (2024-25) and Shaun Tait’s 8-43 (2003-04).
It was especially remarkable given South Australia was sitting 1-82, eventually being bowled out for 135.
“In my first over, I felt like (the ball) landed nicely and spun, so I felt it was a little bit to work with,” Swepson said post-match.
“And yeah, the rest is all a bit of a blur, to be honest.
“I had a nice groove out there, had a nice rhythm, and there was a little bit of assistance in the surface. But yeah, it was just one of those days where everything clicks.”
Swepson took seven of the nine wickets available as Campbell Thompson did not bat.
Mackenzie Harvey (72 off 66) and Alex Carey (36 off 40) were the only South Aussies to reach double digits, with five batters dismissed for 2 or less.
