Broncos veteran Adam Reynolds is reportedly facing the possibility he will have to retire from the NRL due to the club’s salary cap squeeze.
The 34-year-old was reportedly set to hang up the boots at the end of the 2025 season, with Brisbane powerbrokers planning to use his salary elsewhere to re-sign big-name stars.
However, according to Code Sports, Reynolds wants to prolong his career, while Hull Kingston Rovers coach Willie Peters is after the experienced halfback to make a UK switch.

Reynolds has reportedly made it clear he will not play for an NRL rival if he prolongs his career, and he already is planning a career in coaching at the Broncos.
The Broncos’ cap is stretched thin, having signed fellow veteran Ben Hunt on a two-year deal.
Meanwhile, the likes of Kotoni Staggs, Payne Haas, Selwyn Cobbo, Koby Hetherington and Cory Paix are all coming off contract.
All five players have been impressive so far this season, and they will be hopeful of securing upgraded deals, while Reece Walsh and Pat Carrigan have already received pay rises.
While Reynolds has a desire to play on, injury issues could halt the veteran playmaker, suffering a fresh hamstring blow against the Tigers on Saturday.
He was asked about his future in the post-match press conference, giggling when quizzed if he will play on.

“Look after this year first, I still have a job to do here, but that will sort itself out in the future,” Reynolds said.
“I’m enjoying myself, I still feel like I have a lot to give and I still have a big job to do this year so I’m not even worried about next year at the moment.
“I’m worried about getting my body right for next week.”
Speaking on Triple M‘s Sunday Sin Bin, Fox League’s James Hooper explained how the Broncos could reshuffle their cap in a bid to retain Reynolds.
“If I’m the Broncos… his influence on that side, the way he plugs everyone in, what he brings to that team as captain, I’d be finding a way,” Hooper said.

“And I don’t care if he only plays 10 games next year, if he’s right come the end of season matches, you want him in your side. He’s that important.
“They are going to have to find a way, but if you look at their roster and their forwards, Ben Te Kura is not even featuring at the moment, so they have got great forward depth.
“You could possibly look to try and balance that out a little bit by shuffling the cards.”
Meanwhile, Broncos chief executive Dave Donaghy told News Corp: “It’s only early in the season. We want to give Reyno the space and time for him to get through some games of footy and see where his mind and body is at. He’s earned that right
“None of us want to rush a decision, from our end that’s out of respect for Reyno more than anything else.”
