The 2025 AFLW grand final will this Saturday be contested by two of the most successful clubs in the league’s history.
And almost unfathomably, for the third consecutive year, record-breaking North Melbourne and the powerhouse Brisbane Lions will do battle for the silverware.
The Kangaroos are the reigning premiers, having toppled the Lions by five goals last year, after Brisbane beat North Melbourne by 17 points in the 2023 decider.

Darren Crocker’s side, which narrowly beat Melbourne in the preliminary final, is riding an all-time-best 26-game winning run — dating all the way back to that ‘23 grand final loss to Brisbane — and is attempting to become the first side to win back-to-back AFLW premierships.
Meanwhile, the Lions, who won through after clinically dispatching of Carlton last week, prepare to appear in their fourth-straight grand final appearance and seventh in 10 seasons.

WHEN IS THE AFLW GRAND FINAL, AND HOW CAN I WATCH IT?
The 2025 AFLW Grand Final will be played at Melbourne’s Ikon Park on Saturday, 29 November at 7:45pm AEDT.
It will be broadcast live on Fox Footy via Channel 504 on Foxtel and streaming on Kayo Sports and Binge.

WHO WILL PERFORM AT THE AFLW GRAND FINAL?
The headline act for this year’s decider is ARIA Award-winning electronic duo Peking Duk.
Adam Hyde and Reuben Styles, who hail from Canberra, have accumulated 27 platinum music awards and drawn in over 400 million streams worldwide.
“To get the call up and have the chance to play at the NAB AFLW Grand Final is a huge honour for us and to be offered the chance to play at one of the fastest growing leagues in the world, and not just during the season but at the Grand Final is an extremely exciting opportunity,” Styles said.
WHO WILL PRESENT THE PREMIERSHIP CUP AND BEST-ON-GROUND MEDAL?
Triple premiership player and five-time dual league best-and-fairest winner Debbie Lee is the 2025 AFLW Premiership Cup Ambassador.
Lee will present the cup to the winning team on Saturday, becoming the 10th person to do so after Erin Phillips was last year’s presenter.
AFL Commissioner Simone Wilkie AO, who also chairs the AFLW Competition Committee, will present the best-on-ground medal.
The best-on-ground voting panel is typically made up of a mixture of past players and media personalities who vote in a 3-2-1 format to decide the winner. Last year, Kangaroos star Jas Garner took out the honours.

WHAT IS THE WEATHER FORECAST?
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, showers will ease on Saturday after a high likelihood of early rainfall.
It’s expected to be a cloudy day, with a maximum temperature of 19 degrees.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE’S A DRAW?
If scores are level at full-time:
1. Goal umpires confirm scores are identical;
2. There is a six-minute break (accredited coaches and staff are permitted to enter the playing arena during this period);
3. Teams change ends;
4. Three minutes of Additional Time shall be played, plus time-on;
5. At the end of the first Additional Time period, the siren will sound and teams will immediately change ends without a break;
6. The ball will be thrown up in the centre and a further three minutes of play (plus time-on) will commence;
7. At the conclusion of this period, the siren will sound and the team with the highest score is declared the winner;
8. If scores are still tied, steps three to eight are repeated until a result is determined.
The following shall also apply for Additional Time periods:
Interchange cap
Clubs shall receive 10 interchanges for the total two x three-minute period (excluding Medical Substitute). Any leftover interchanges from each period of Additional Time do not carry over into a subsequent period.
Runners
Runners may access the playing arena after a goal or a significant stoppage in play (eg. a stretcher is called).
Runners are also permitted to access the playing arena at the conclusion of each three-minute (plus time-on) period of Additional Time as players are changing ends.
