Port Adelaide star Dan Houston has requested a trade back to Victoria, while ruckman Ivan Soldo has also asked for a move a year after joining the club.
Houston, who has three years remaining on his deal, told the Power at his exit meeting on Tuesday he wished to return to his home state without specifying a club. However he’s willing to remain at Alberton if a trade can’t be struck.
The dual All-Australian missed the entire finals series due to his Showdown suspension.

“I informed the club my preference was to play in Victoria next year,” he said at Alberton on Tuesday.
“The last few weeks I’ve had a fluctuation of emotions. If the deal can’t get done, I’m happy to stay at Port, I love the club.”
It comes despite Houston repeatedly shutting down ongoing trade whispers in recent times including telling foxfooty.com.au in July he was “fully committed” to Port.
He recently met with Carlton, Collingwood, St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs, with Port seeking two first-round picks back in a swap.
Soldo, who’s contracted until 2026, is also wanting to return to Victoria and reportedly seeking a move to St Kilda, where he’d pair up with Rowan Marshall, despite not nominating a club of choice.
The 204cm player “didn’t settle into living in Adelaide,” according to AFL Media’s Callum Twomey, after being traded from Richmond last exchange window.
He played eight senior games this year and was eventually forced out of the senior side by Jordon Sweet.
Earlier on Tuesday it was confirmed Jack Lukosius had picked Port over the Crows as he seeks a trade back to South Australia.
