Gout Gout cruised into the final of the 200 metres at the Australian Athletics Championships, setting up a rematch with fellow young gun Lachlan Kennedy.
Gout, 17, let up early but still ran a 20.21 in the opening heat on Sunday afternoon – just off his personal best of 20.04.

He ran a wind-assisted 19.98 in Brisbane last month while his legal time in the heats of a 20.05 was the second-fastest this year, behind only Sinesipho Dambile’s 20.01.
The world record is Usain Bolt’s 19.19 from back in 2009.
Kennedy, who upstaged Gout last month by winning the 200m at the Maurie Plant Meet and won silver in the 60m at the world indoor championships a week prior, ran a 20.85 to be second in the second heat.
Kennedy’s personal best is a 20.26.
Gout is coming off two incredible runs in the 100 metres on Thursday, twice breaking the 10-second barrier but his 9.99 times were both wind-assisted.
The 200m final will run at 5pm AEST.
