The Bulldogs have moved into “short-priced favourites” to sign Lachlan Galvin who an NRL great has accused of “derailing the Wests Tigers’ season.
Premiership winner Braith Anasta said the Tigers should “get rid of” Galvin immediately in the wake of the club allowing him to start talking to rivals.

James Hooper ridiculed the Tigers for backflipping on their declaration that Galvin would see out his contract, but Anasta backed the club.
“I’m with the Tigers, I think well done. I don’t have an issue with what they’ve done, I don’t think they’ve lost. I think they could prove to have won at the end of all this,” Anasta said.
“So you think it’s good to get rid of Galvin?” Hooper asked.
“Get rid of him, get rid of him, at the end of the day this team, this club is bigger than one player.
“Look at the turnaround, look at what Benji was doing, look at the players in their side that were thriving, you’ve got Luai and the likes.
“All their players have got better, yeah they’ve lost the last two weeks but you’ve got to say that’s got a lot to do with what’s happened here and the huge distraction it’s been.
“This came from nowhere, it was a curveball from his management and his team which unsettled and derailed a club that was on the rise.
“Do you want that in your club? Do you want that as part of your team? Do you want to play next to that guy?”

Gorden Tallis responded with an emphatic “no” before Anasta continued and said he believes his former club Canterbury are in for the teen superstar.
“The Tigers have taken the right stance,”he said.
“We can say yes the manager won and he has and it’s not good and we shouldn’t allow this but at the end of the day, the Tigers had to go in and say ‘see you later’.
“I’ve tried to talk to the (Bulldogs) about it and I’ve got zero in return which makes me think it even more… I really think they’re in the hunt for him.
“I know they watch this show every night and if ever we get something wrong or it’s not on the mark, I’m told about it swiftly.”
On Wednesday morning, Canterbury coach Cameron Ciraldo refused to rule out signing Galvin and said the club would “have those conversations in the future”.
“I think the look on Cameron Ciraldo’s face there and the way that he answered the questions, that tells a thousand words,” Hooper said.

“Clearly, they’re in the mix and they are going to have a crack for this kid. I would have them as short-priced favourites over the Parramatta Eels.”
“Yeah I don’t think your phone is going to ring tonight, Braith,” Michael Carayannis said.
“I think that all the indications are that in the background the Bulldogs have been working towards this and it would be a bit of a blow for them because Parramatta want him, no doubt.
“Parramatta would love to see him back at the club, that combination with Mitch Moses, they’ve got significant cap space for him with Dylan Brown going, it would make sense from all those angles that he could just slot in there.”
