Rugby league cult hero Ronnie Palmer has reportedly been let go by the Tigers and the experienced coach and trainer revealed he feels “lost”.
Palmer has been involved an NRL pre-season each year since 1971 after he made his debut for the Balmain Tigers, going on to play 35 games.
Now The Daily Telegraph is reporting Tigers powerbrokers informed the legendary trainer his services were no longer required in Leichhardt.

“I feel quite a bit lost,” Palmer said.
“I haven’t been in this situation since I was 21.
“The Tigers told me they weren’t going to renew my contract. These things happen and you have to move on.
“I feel a little bit let down but you have to cop these things and move on. There’s no sour grapes here.”
Palmer was widely recognised as one of rugby league’s best strength and conditioning coaches, having spent 24 years at the Roosters.
He also had stints with the Titans, Panthers and Eels before returning to the Tigers to help Ivan Cleary in 2018.

Now Palmer has been left without a job and believes he can still be a valuable asset for any rugby league side.
“I know that I have a lot to offer,” Palmer said.
“I would still love to be involved. It gets a bit difficult. When you get a bit older they shuffle you along.
“The old horse is out on the long yard. I know that I’ve got a lot to offer. You just have to try and convince a club of that.”
