York Valkyrie hooker Sinead Peach was sent off on Saturday after asking an inappropriate question to the referee in their 18-8 loss to St Helens in the Women’s Super League.

York looked on track for victory after taking an early 8-0 lead courtesy of a Savannah Andrade try and Rhiannon Marshall’s penalty goal, but the Saints hit back when Emily Rudge scored before a quickfire Phoebe Hook double saw them storm ahead.
With frustrations boiling over for York as the game slipped away after a penalty was awarded in favour of the Saints, Peach let the referee know exactly what she thought in the 79th minute.
She was subsequently sent off for dissent and the referee’s mic happened to pick up an explanation of what she allegedly said to spark the decision.
“I’m not having you saying, ‘Which one are you shagging?’. You’re off,” the referee said.
The penalty saw Saints kick further ahead, sealing an 18-8 win which has them sitting on top of the ladder with 22 points while York remains in third.
