Podcaster Andrew ‘Menners’ Menczel has responded to being called a “f***ing idiot” by co-host and former Australian leg-spinner Stuart MacGill on his Cricket Unfiltered podcast earlier in the week.
In an episode that aired on Tuesday, Menczel discussed the treatment of David Warner’s wife, Candice Warner, during Australia’s Tour of South Africa in 2018, specifically mentioning how members of the crowd wore Sonny Bill Williams masks.

This then caught the attention of MacGill, who berated his co-host and went on a tirade for about three minutes, which saw him call Menczel words such as “moron”, “pig-headed” and a “muppet”.
Now, Menczel has delivered an explosive reply.
A transcript of his response can be read below.
“Show ends and then he goes off some more. Yells at me, calls me the ‘C’ word. Storm out the door and I just say I’m going to release the episode.
“There’s no way I’m going to sit on this apart from the fact that he was yelling at me to release the episode. And you think the way he was carrying on, he’d (be) begging me not to release it.
“Then he was saying for me to bleep out Sonny Bill Williams’ name because no one can hear the ex-footballer’s name. What an absolute muppet he is.
“So he leaves, I release it and look, I was fine. I don’t mind being called those things. I’m no shrinking violet.

“Anyone that’s listened to this show knows I can take a punch. I can give a punch. People were checking in with me about my mental health. I’m doing fine.
“One thing about that though that I didn’t like is the bullying. His attempt to bully me or bully anyone because that’s not good to listen to. It’s not good to watch, it doesn’t set a good example.
“So I find that stuff quite onerous. I don’t mind arguing with someone, and on the show, I did try take on board his point of view.
“But he wasn’t having any of it, and he had this meltdown, which was immature, and it was bullying. It wasn’t arguing, it wasn’t fun to listen to.
“He has shown those signs before in previous episodes. When he feels he can’t keep up, instead of trying to engage, he just bullies or demeans. It’s a very cheap form of content, and personally, the listeners don’t like it.
“I’ve had so many people reach out to say ditch him from the show. I decided not to make any big decisions after the fact but what was very worrying for me is he’s shown basically zero remorse for what he did.
“There’s been no even hint of an apology towards me for the way he acted. There’s been no regret. That is worrying for me because he’s a ticking time bomb.
“I can bring him back into the podcast but I guarantee I’m not going to sit on my hands anymore, Stu. So when you come back in, I’m telling you there’s a car-boot full of stuff that I can bring up if you want to keep calling me words.
“So I’ll be very careful about that because things actually could kick off if he doesn’t watch it. It’s not going to be one-way traffic forever. Anybody that listens to the show for the last month knows I’ve handled him very gently.
“When something’s off the pace, I move on. I’m very nice to him but the way he treated me that means he’s going to get some of it back. I don’t know if the podcast is able to continue in that way.
“I don’t want to be fighting with someone. I don’t want to be punched in the face and let’s be honest, that meltdown was unhinged and insane. He started twitching like he was going to punch me.
“Admittedly when he left he got in my face. I’m not sure exactly what’s going to happen but I went to this with my eyes open. I’m telling you, if all his teammates, all his captains, all the people that worked with him on radio say he’s difficult and a hot-head that must be true!
“I went into this with open eyes that we record a podcast together. I don’t want to be great mates with him. I’m here to do a show with him so I’m not going to go to the pub with him.
“I just thought we would be able to may be get through and record a podcast together but he’s a broken man.
MORE TO COME…
